Shared Office
The Innovation Centre Medway “My Desk” shared office space enables small businesses and start ups access to a premium office space shared with 5 other users. Ideal as a first step towards a dedicated office and provides access to an impressive corporate image without the traditional overheads. Pricing £150 per month payable in advance via direct debit. Deposit £150 payable via cheque or BACS transfer. What is covered by the licence fee
- A 1200mm desk, a office chair and a storage unit
- Telephone complete with a dedicated incoming number
- Connection to our dedicated 20Mb symmetric internet connection (1Tb Cap)
- Business rates
- Heating, lighting, electricity and water
- Buildings insurance
- Maintenance and cleaning of communal areas including exterior of windows
- Centre management and security
- Refuse disposal (although you must take your office waste to the bin compound)
- Provision of reception services during normal working hours
- Mail handling / receipt of deliveries during normal working hours
- Limited free parking
- Use of meeting rooms (2 hours free per month)
- Kitchen and shower facilities
- Wi-Fi access in breakout areas
- Monitored external CCTV
- All other services and facilities as listed in your tenant licence
What is not covered by the rental charge
- Additional internet bandwidth – £25 per additional 1Tb of bandwidth
- Telephone call costs - call costs are 3p/min Local rate and 6p/min National rate. The rates for overseas call costs are avaliable on request. You may wish to bring in your own VOIP type phone, but this will not allow call handling by reception and carries a surcharge of £5 per month, per handset
- The Data Centre - You may have a requirement to house your business server. Our Data Room can accommodate your needs. Please speak to us for prices and options
- Printing and photocopying charges if you use the centre's print photocopier. You receive your own pin number to ensure you are only billed for your print and copy costs. 3 pence per Black and white copy, 6 pence per colour copy
- Post franking and pick up service. This is invoiced monthly at standard royal mail rates
Licence agreement A copy of the standard licence agreement for Innovation Centre Medway is available on request. The licence is a 1 Month rolling licence with a one month notice period. There is a statutory declaration document to accompany the licence agreement, which also requires your signature and witnessing by a solicitor. Under a licence agreement you have no right to renew your licence when it comes to an end and the statutory declaration procedure protects the Council’s right to require possession of the office at the end of your licence. The Council may, however agree that you can continue to occupy the office under a new licence, on the expiry of your initial licence. . Notice to move into Innovation Centre Medway We require a minimum of 10 working days notice before you move into the building. This allows us to plan for your office, IT and telecoms set up in advance of your move-in date.
